A Day in the Life: Adventures with @tribeofwuwu

Parenthood is one of the most challenging, magical, exasperating and rewarding adventures any of us can undertake. Most parents experience laughs, frustrations, spilled cornflakes, cuddles and grazed knees, but everyone travels a different path on their child’s wild and wonderful journey and we all have varied and vivid stories of heart-burstingly beautiful times, moments when we just want to use the bathroom in peace, and all the everyday bits in between.

Follow a series of stories from parents and their littlies around the world to see what A Day in The Life looks like in various countries, and see how Bobux fits in with their routine to make their lives that little bit easier... and their kids lives that little bit more exciting (and comfy!) while they go about their daily adventures..

EDITION 1

We asked Alana from @tribeofwuwu to share A Day in her Life with her cute as a button son, Spencer.

We are currently a little family of three but this will soon change in August where we become a family of four!

My husband lived overseas until he was a teenager and then decided he wanted to learn English, so he lived with an Australian family who taught him all about surfing, camping, eating Weetbix for breakfast and the rest is history because he couldn’t get enough of Australian culture and decided to stay. Our love of nature and the ocean has led us to reside seaside on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

CUDDLES

This morning we woke to little hands touching my eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth. Upon opening my eyes, I see Spencer's big cheeky grin and a little giggle came out. His dad was still asleep. We decided to stay in bed for 15 minutes for some extra cuddle time.

6.15am

We changed Spencer's nappy, moisturised him (he has fairly bad eczema so we keep him moisturised) and put him in his overalls for the day.

6.40am

Spencer raided the kitchen pantry pulling out two cereals - one chocolate flavoured and the other natural. We told Spencer he could only choose one, so he pointed at the natural flavour one. Spencer had two bowls of cereal, one with milk and one without. He was very hungry this morning! Breakfast took a long time since he is a slow eater.

7.40am

We were finally out of the house and made it to Spencer's swimming lesson where his agility and balancing is very good, however he still needs to work on kicking in the water.

8.40am

We left swimming lessons and went for a house inspection. Our family is growing and we have a new family member on the way so have been looking for a new home.

9.00am

We took a look at the house but unfortunately it wasn't something for our family.

9.30am

PLAYING IN THE PARK

Given the fact that we spent the whole morning doing routine activities, we decided to take Spencer to the park to play. Spencer loved his shoes and kept pointing to the 'B' on his shoes. He had a great play at the park and was very well behaved. We told him we had to leave and he walked back to the car.

SLEEPY TIME

Spencer fell asleep in the car from the busy morning and we successfully transferred him from the car back into his cot at home.

12.30pm

MORE PLAYING (WHY NOT?!)

Spencer has woken up from a long nap! He is in a happy mood and decides he wants to play in playroom for a little bit so we quickly cook his lunch.

1.00pm

BEEF AND NOODLES

Spencer eats his favourite beef and vegetable noodles. He goes “yum” when he sees his plate and uses his fork to bring the noodles to his mouth. He soon realises how the delicious the noodles are and decides to use his hands to get the noodles into his tummy faster.

2.00pm

RETURFING THE YARD

We are in the process of selling our home. Our grass in the backyard has died from the recent Sydney water restrictions caused by the Australian drought. We just haven’t had enough rain in the past few months but around 3 weeks ago there was a huge down pour of rain which filled up the Warragamba dam and our water restrictions have eased off.

Spencer spent the afternoon with his dad gardening and returfing the backyard with fresh green grass!. When the gardening was finished, we told Spencer he did such a great job so he finally took a seat to rest and gave a big smile!

RAIN!

It started to rain and Spencer was pretty dirty in his overalls from gardening so we quickly changed him and headed to our local shops to grab some groceries.

4.30pm

....LEADS TO PUDDLES

We got out of the car and Spencer decided he wanted to jump and splash in some puddles. He procrastinated further by wanting to sit on the wall. We then popped him into the trolley as we did our weekly grocery shop.

TIME FOR DINNER

We were back home and cooked dinner together. Spencer and his dad cut up the potatoes, boiled them and then mashed them. I prepared sausages and some steamed vegetables.

7.30pm

Spencer had a bath and we took turns looking after Spencer whilst we both showered too.

8.00pm

Bed time stories have started and his current favourite books are “My Mum” and “My Dad” by Anthony Browne. Spencer makes his milk with his dad and drinks it. Spencer says goodnight to our dog Teddy and to me. He falls asleep on his dad’s shoulder.

9.00pm

We are childfree now so we have a warm tea and chat to each other about our week. We decide to watch some TV shows to relax.

10.30pm

We go to sleep ready to do it all again tomorrow!
